5.6.4. Animation Play

After scenario analysis is performed, the user can play the animation. If the user simulates using the Scenario Analysis with combination both dynamic analysis and other analysis, then the default generated animation files (*.ran) have only static result for each step and dynamic analysis result. The following files must be loaded to view animations for other analysis except dynamic analysis.

  • ModelName_sta000#.ran: Show static iteration result for the static simulation.

  • ModelName_eig000#.ran: Show mode shape animations of the eigenvalue simulation.

  • ModelName_fra000#.ran: Show frequency response animations of the FRA simulation.

  • ModelName_scenario.ran: If the Show Static Animation option in the Static Analysis dialog is checked, this file can be generated. This shows static iteration result and dynamic analysis result. This file can be also generated after dynamic analysis with Include Static Analysis option.

Priority for Animation Play

Although all animation result can be shown according to Simulation type, it cannot be shown at the same time. There is a rule about priority for Animation Play.

  • If SIM/DYN is included among SIM commands, dynamic result is shown.

  • If SIM/STA is included and the end time for the SIM/STA is set as a positive value among SIM commands, static result is shown.

  • If SIM/STA is included only without other SIM commands and the end time for the SIM/STA is set a zero, static result is shown.

  • If SIM/FRA and SIM/EIG are included without other SIM commands, FRA result is shown.

  • If SIM/EIG is included only without other SIM commands, eigenvalue result is shown.
