20.6.6.2. Coulomb & Viscous Friction
The Coulombic and Viscous Friction block implements a discontinuity at zero and a linear gain otherwise by computing
\(y= sign(u) \times (Gain \times abs(u) + Offset)\)
- where,
- \(y\) is the output signal\(u\) is the input signal\(Gain\) is the coefficient of viscous friction parameter\(Offset\) is the coulombic friction value parameter.

Enter the slope of the viscous friction at nonzero input points. |
Coulombic friction value (Offset) |
Enter the coulombic friction value offset. |
Sample time |
Enter the time interval between samples. |
20.6.6.2.1. Example
We can test the CVF block with the CoLink model shown in the below figure. It is possible to input as array value and to offset the inputted value.
