39.2.2.2. Adjust Node Position

Sometimes, node distribution of piston and cylinder patch set is very random. This phenomenon has bad effect on EHD analysis because EHD system has very small clearance. User can adjust node position on the patch set so that the distance between neutral axis and the nodes in radial direction is the same as piston or cylinder radius.

Figure 39.46 Adjust Node Position dialog box

  • Adjust Node Position of Piston with Nominal Radius: Adjust node position on the piston patch set so that the distance between neutral axis (=Y axis of action marker) and the nodes in radial direction is the same as piston radius.

  • Adjust Node Position of Cylinder with Nominal Radius: Adjust node position on the cylinder patch set so that the distance between neutral axis (=Y axis of base marker) and the nodes in radial direction is the same as cylinder radius.
