6.1.4.3.12. UV Surface

It allows the user to create UV surfaces with surface geometries with one or more faces.

The created UV Surface is used in the UV contact and PTSF.

6.1.4.3.12.1. Modeling Options

The user can create a surface geometry by the following procedure.

• Surface, WithDialog

  • Surface: Selects a surface or one face belonging to surface or solid geometries. Although a surface has multi-face, it must be checked board style.

  • WithDialog: After selecting a surface, UV Surface dialog box is shown. The surface is created by clicking OK in the UV Surface dialog box.

    • Entity Name: Shows the selected surface name.

    • Color: Specifies the color of the surface to be created.

    • U Value: Specifies the number of segments in the U direction.

    • V Value: Specifies the number of segments in the V direction.

    • Face Type: If it’s Each type, the u and v values are applied to each face. If it’s All type, the u and v values are divided and assigned to each face.

    • Fill Holes: If the holes were in the middle of the surface, the holes are filled, and the surface has no holes.

  • 4-Sided Edges Group: Specify the 1st and 3rd group of edges.

    • The edges of the UV surface are divided into 4 groups. The first group confronts the third group, and the second group confronts the fourth group. Between the 1st group and the 3rd group, there are 2nd and 4th groups. Therefore, if the 1st and 3rd edge groups are selected, the 2nd and 4th edge groups are defined automatically.

  • Preview: Previews the UV surface (the UV segment and normal direction) to be created on Working Window.

  • Update: Updates preview with the input values.
