6.1.4.3.6. Spin Surface

It allows the user to create the spun surface geometric by using a closed curve with respect to the user-defined rotation axis.

6.1.4.3.6.1. Modeling Options

The user can create a spin surface geometry by the following procedure.

  • Profile, Axis

    • Profile: Selects a profile.

    • Axis: Defines a rotation axis. At that time, the user can define the axis as the marker axis or an edge of the selected geometric entity. Additionally, if selecting two points, the direction is determined automatically from the start point to the endpoint.

  • Curve, Axis

    • Curve: Selects a curve.

    • Axis: Defines a rotation axis. At that time, the user can define the axis as the marker axis or an edge of the selected geometric entity. Additionally, if selecting two points, the direction is determined automatically from the start point to the endpoint.

  • WithDialog

    • WithDialog: Spin dialog box is shown. The surface is created by clicking OK in the Spin dialog box.

      • Color: Specifies the color of the surface to be created.

      • Point: Defines the center point of spin.

      • Direction: Defines the axis to spin.

      • Angle: Defines the angle of spin.

      • Add/Remove: Selects several edges of any geometries the user wants to add or remove.

      • Add/Remove (Continuous): When using Add/Remove, if this option is checked, the connected edges within the degrees are selected together.

      • Tolerance (Degrees): The angle between the connected two edges.

      • Preview: Previews the surface to be created on Working Window.

      • Update: Update the preview.

6.1.4.3.6.2. Properties

The user can modify the geometry information using the Spin Surface Geometry property page.

  • Make Road Data: Defines the patch size for the road data depth. This option is activated in Ground Mode.

  • Rotation Angle: This is a value for the rotation angle.

  • Start Point: Defines the start point to determine a direction of rotation.

  • End Point: Defines the endpoint to determine a direction of rotation.
