23.2.3.1.2. Particles

For every embedded particle solver that used in a co-simulation, there must also be at least one particle set. A particle set is a group of particles that all have the same radius, property groups, and color. After creating particle sets, it shows the ratio o the particle set volume to the volume of the selected geometry.

23.2.3.1.2.1. Modeling Options

The user can create a particles as follows.

  • Solid(Shell), WithDialog

    • Solid(Shell): Selects a solid or shell geometry.

    • WithDialog: Modifies the property list for the particle sets. The particle sets are created with clicking OK.

    • Name: Sets the name of particle set.

    • Radius: Sets the radius of the created particles.

    • Ratio: Sets the ratio of particle set.

    • Color: Sets the color of particle set.

    • Parking Direction: Sets the direction of the created particles.

    • Add: Adds a row.

    • Delete: Deletes a row.

  • MultiSolid, MultiSolid, WithDialog

    • MultiSolid: Selects multi solid geometries.

    • MultiSolid: Selects multi solid geometries.

The First group of the geometries and the second group of the geometries are boolean united respectively. And the first united geometry is subtracted body the second united geometry. The subtracted geometry is packed with particles.

23.2.3.1.2.2. Message

After creating particle sets, it shows the following message.

Listing 23.1 Ratio of the particles to the geometry
The volume of the geometry : 195464627.695867
The volume of the particle sets (sphere) : 29474803.5695645
The ratio (sphere particle sets / geometry) : 15.08 (%)
The volume of the particle sets (cubic) : 56292728.217106
The ratio (cubic particle sets / geometry) : 28.8 (%)
