10.7. Strain Stress Shape Generation

Strain Stress Shape Generation makes stress and/or strain shape in case the RFI file has no information about the stress or strain shape. The generated strain and/or stress shape is computed using the strain and stress recovery function for the RecurDyn/RFlex.

First of all, you should define the path that RFI file exists and select Stress Shape or Strain Shape. And user can set the shell recovery type. If user choose Top, the stress and strain shape are top surface result for their shell type elements. If user choose Bottom the stress and strain shape are bottom surface result.

Because RFI file has the mode shape information and element information, it is possible to generate stress or strain shape without simulation. If the RFI file has no element information, this function does not perform.

Note

Stress and strain generation function only considers supported elements. Therefore, if all including elements of an RFI are not the supported element, the stress and strain result of all nodes is always zero. If an RFI has both the supported elements and the not-supported elements, the stress and strain result of a node which is only connected with not-supported elements always be zero.
