29.2.5. Roller

The roller is a geometric entity that is defined by a cylinder. It is contacted to the bottom contact nodes or the top contact nodes of the belt depending upon whether it is located the inside or the outside of belt assembly loop.

29.2.5.1. Modeling Options

The user can create a roller as follows.

  • Point, Distance

    • Point: Selects a point to define the center of the roller.

    • Distance: Defines a distance of the roller.

  • Point, Distance, Depth

    • Point: Selects a point to define the center of the roller.

    • Distance: Defines a distance of the roller.

    • Depth: Defines a depth of the roller.

Figure 29.34 Roller property page [Characteristic page]

The Roller property page is shown in Figure 29.34. The parameters are explained below. In order to understand the geometry, refer to Dimension Information.

  • Radius (R): Enters the radius of roller. The radius is larger than 0.

  • Width (W): Enters the width of roller. The width is larger than 0.

  • Assembled Radius: Enter the assembled radius of roller. The radius is larger than 0.

  • Full search: If this is checked, all belt bodies are searched for the contact with the roller.

  • Partial search: If this is checked, belt bodies within the given boundary are searched for the contact with roller.

  • User boundary: Enters the range of boundary.
