21.2.2.1. Design Parameters

Design Parameters are used as the candidate set of design variables. If one checks ‘DV’ in the list of design parameters, then the checked design parameters become the design variables. Figure 21.8 shows the relations of parametric values, design parameters and design variables.

The side constraints are defined when the design parameters are selected. In Figure 21.8, one can see LB’ and UB in the table of design parameters. They are Lower Bound and Upper Bound for each design variables. The functional constraints are defined in the sub-menus in the Design Optimization and DFSS/Robust Design Optimization menus.
