47.3.1. Playing an Animation

RecurDyn Standalone Solver does not support GUI. So, if the user wants to play an animation, should be create a *.ran file during the simulation.

In the case of flexible models, if the user wants to see contour data such as stress and strain, a *.srd and *.erd files should be created manually by using Output Regenerator in GUI.

To create a ran file

  1. Edit the rmd file and search for the string RANSAVE. You can find a block of data in the rmd file as shown below:

    !========== ====== OUTPUT =====================!
    OUTPUT/GRSAVE
    , RPLTSAVE = TRUE
    , RADSAVE = TRUE
    , REQSAVE = TRUE
    , OUTSAVE = TRUE
    , MSGSAVE = TRUE
    , RANSAVE = FALSE

  2. Change the FALSE to TRUE. If exporting a *.rmd file after checking the RAN as result files on the Simulation dialog box from the Model Setting group, do not need to change.
