9.14.6. Thermal Contact

You can define the thermal contact at the interface of the FFlex body. Thermal contact is an entity that represents heat transfer between two different patches by using the conduction equation.

  • Base Patch Set: Defines a base patch set.

  • Direction: Select the direction to define the heat flow direction.

  • Preview Direction: Previews the defined direction.

  • Range: This value is needed to find the nearest action patch from the base patch. The search algorithm aims to find one patch, which is the closest among the “Action Patches” located within the range centered around the “Base Patch”. If all action patches are out of range, no heat transfer is occur.

  • Action Patch Sets: Defiles multi action patch set.

  • Expression [ \(W/(mc)\) ]

    • Thermal Conductivity: Define the expression for heat flux through interface which is defined by between base patch and action patch sets.
