27.6. Track to Surface Contact

When the user wants to create contacts with the surface or the shell (or the Road shell), the Track to Surface contact can be used.

The Track to Surface contact can be consisted of the fixed or movable surfaces (or the Road shell). The Track to Surface contact has each ground to the track link contact property. It is help to consist of multi ground properties.

The following table is compare with the Track to Road and the Track to Surface contact.

Note

Limitation: The RecurDyn road data (*.rdf) and the Track to Surface Contact cannot exist at the same time.

Normal Direction of Geometry (surface, shell, road shell): Only patches of upper direction should be carefully selected in the road geometry.

Therefore, we recommend to use the surface of solid imported. In the case of shell, if upper direction patches can be selected, this road made by shell could be carefully used.
